Today we talk about an interesting film that arrives us from Turkey. Chronology is a heartbreaking psychological thriller, written and directed by Ali Aidyn, who already surprise us with his latest film KUF. Let's go!

We are in front of a dark portrait of the actual society, shoot with spontaneity in the first part and temperance in the second. Severity, coldness and desperation are well reflected points in this unhurried mystery film. An intimist and social thriller with powerful performances, that has a real and overwhelming message just like life itself. The film drives us over drama in an elegant and effective way, giving the plot a great deal of emotional charge, even allowing touches of fantasy cinema.

Although Chronology is a thriller, it doesn't get very deep in the police investigation, but it focuses almost totally from Hakan's point of view, who is consumed by rage and desperation, creating a vicious circle of obsession and anger. In an interpretative level is a solid and effective film, with very few characters but well structured. Birkan Sokullu has a brilliant and strong performance as the main character.

Its almost nonexistent music soundtrack reminds the style of the Japanese Director Kiyoshi Kurosawa, backing it up with environmental sounds to generate moments of anguish and desolation.

One of the things we most like about Chronology it's its editing. Thought to the very last detail to show us the real soul of the movie and to introduce surprise elements in a dynamic way.

In conclusion, a very prominent dramatic thriller, perfectly shot, slow tempo and direct and demolishing message.

The best: Its interesting story and its way to structure the facts.
Perfectly shot.

The worst: Maybe it could be a little slow for those who think they're going to watch a police thriller.
